Verification Policy
This policy explains how Mazadat Masr verifies users and protects their identity documents, personal data, and rights.
Last updated: September 1, 20261. Purpose and scope
Mazadat Masr uses identity verification to reduce impersonation and improve marketplace accountability. Verification is optional for ordinary browsing and may be required before selling, receiving certain privileges, or completing a higher-risk transaction.
2. What the badge means
“Identity verified” means an authorized reviewer checked the submitted government identity document, matched the displayed identity information to the account, and approved the request. It does not guarantee a listing, product, payment, delivery, buyer, seller, or transaction.
3. Information collected
We collect the account identifier, full legal name, document type, front image or passport photo page, the reverse side for national IDs, consent version, submission and decision times, and a security audit record. We do not request card or bank PINs.
4. How information is used and shared
The information is used only to review identity, prevent abuse, investigate verification fraud, manage appeals, and meet legal obligations. Documents are not public, are not emailed as attachments, and are not sold. Access is restricted to authorized reviewers and service providers that are contractually required to protect the data.
5. Storage and retention
Files are stored outside the public website directory with randomized names and restricted permissions. Raw identity images are scheduled for deletion 30 days after a final decision. Abandoned pending requests are removed after 90 days. A minimal decision record and audit history may be retained longer where necessary for fraud prevention, dispute handling, or legal compliance.
6. Your choices and rights
You may choose not to submit verification, request correction, ask about the data held, withdraw a pending request, or appeal a decision by contacting Mazadat Masr. Withdrawal does not affect processing already lawfully completed and may remove verification-dependent privileges.
7. Security and incidents
We apply access controls, upload validation, private storage, audit logging, and retention controls. No system is risk-free. If an incident affects identity data, Mazadat Masr will follow applicable notification and response requirements.
8. Contact and policy changes
Use the site contact form and select “Verification and privacy.” This policy should be reviewed with Egyptian privacy counsel before public launch and after material legal or process changes.
